ABOUT netherlands-based soprano KATHERINE WEBER
Lauded for her “dramatic conviction and touching sensitivity” by Chicago Classical Review, soprano Katherine Weber is garnering attention for her “magnetic stage presence and abundant potential (Opera News). Engagements for 2022-2023 include recording projects and a performance of Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 with with the Zemlinsky Chamber Orchestra.
In the 2019-2020 season, Ms. Weber debuted with the Noord Nederland Orkest in Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 and a performance of Tatyana’s Letter Scene from Eugene Onegin. She later joined the Zemlinsky Chamber Orchestra as its artist in residence, appearing in several virtual programs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Other solo appearances include Beethoven’s Mass in C with Winona Oratorio, Carmina Burana with Northwest Indiana Symphony, Poulenc’s Gloria with Lacrosse Symphony Orchestra, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with both the New Philharmonic and Northwest Indiana Symphony.
Additional operatic credits include the title role in Iolanta with Chicago Opera Theater, Violetta in La Traviata with the Aspen Festival, Central City Opera and Boulder Symphony, and Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus with New Philharmonic.
Ms. Weber is a two-time District Winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and was awarded both the Award of Excellence and Lew Cady Memorial Award while an Apprentice Artist at Central City Opera. Ms. Weber is a graduate of Indiana University.
